One Year in The UK

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Getting the Scholarship  to The UK was like dream. Once I came here I had pleasant things and bad ones.  .

In my country, Saudi Arabia, I  used to rely on my family in doing everything such as paying bills and balancing the budget. In my country I have a driver and servant who can do and bring everything I need. Whereas here, I have to do everything myself cooking, shopping and cleaning. I have became too strong and confident to travel alone and tried the train which is not exist in my country. Also, I have the confidence to do presentation whether in front  of girls or boys. In my opinion, this Scholarship is  making  me a strong mature woman.

Another thing that I've benefit from is being a friend of my brother. Although he is older than me, I can find time to play or chat with him. He taught me how to ride a bicycle. He treats me like a friend and sister at the same time. We discuss our problems togather and try to solve them together as well.

enlarging my English vocabulary was the most important timing. I've learnt a lot of new and advanced phrases. I've learnt how to describe a graph. I've consolidated some skills like listening and writing and speaking. I know how to make a good project and how to search a bout information without   plagiarism what I used to do, but not any more.

  1. You've made a start, well done Norah! Can you try to post some of the given tasks for us. For example, the task on 'stream of consciousness' writing - taken from the lesson on Jack Kerouc and US counter-culture. The previous task was to comment on potential feelings of culture shock, homesickness etc which you have done, so well done on making a start. Please keep up to date with tasks, and remember to post 3 x per week!!
